These included, Carroll Shelby, and Tony Brooks, both had issues with the ignition, Fritz d'Orey, who had to retire due to an accident on lap 57, Ron Flockhart, who lost control and spun off the track on lap 53, Jack Fairman, and Hans Herrmann, both experienced issues with the gearbox, Jo Bonnier, who saw the breaks of the car give up on lap 37, Ian Burgess, Brian Naylor, and Mike Taylor, all of whom had a transmission problem, and David Piper, who suffered from an overall car overhating on lap 19.
