1954 British Grand Prix

The British Grand Prix 1954 was the 5th round of the 1954 F1 season, and took place at the Silverstone Circuit in Silverstone, UK, on July 17th.

José Froilán González won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Mike Hawthorn, and Onofre Marimón completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 28th position of the grid.

Juan Fangio started from the pole position, but only managed to finish 4th.

These included, Stirling Moss, who had problems with an axle on lap 80, Bill Whitehouse, who had a fuel system failure on lap 63, Jean Behra, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 54, Roy Salvadori, who had a transmission problem on lap 53, Prince Bira, John Riseley-Prichard, Clemar Bucci, and Ron Flockhart, all of whom had to retire due to an accident, Luigi Villoresi, Reg Parnell, Alberto Ascari, Peter Collins, Robert Manzon, Eric Brandon, and Louis Rosier, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Peter Whitehead, who had an oil leak on lap 4, and Alan Brown, and Rodney Nuckey, both withdrew.
