1982 Brazilian Grand Prix

The Brazilian Grand Prix 1982 was the 2nd round of the 1982 F1 season, and took place at the Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on March 21st.

Alain Prost won the race from the pole, followed by John Watson, and Nigel Mansell completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 14th position of the grid.

These included, Eliseo Salazar, who suffered an engine malfunction on lap 38, Chico Serra, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 36, Riccardo Patrese, who had physical problems on lap 34, Gilles Villeneuve, Derek Daly, and Raul Boesel, all of whom lost control and spun off the track, Niki Lauda, René Arnoux, Carlos Reutemann, and Elio de Angelis, all of whom retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars, Eddie Cheever, who suffered a water leak on lap 19, Bruno Giacomelli, who had a problem with the clutch on lap 16, and Jacques Laffite, and Andrea de Cesaris, both experienced problems with the chassis of the car.
