The Brazilian Grand Prix 1978 was the 2nd round of the 1978 F1 season, and took place at the Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on January 29th.

Carlos Reutemann won the race after starting in the 4th position, followed by Emerson Fittipaldi, and Niki Lauda completing the podium.

Ronnie Peterson started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars, and had to retire on lap 15th.
