1984 Belgian Grand Prix

The Belgian Grand Prix 1984 was the 3rd round of the 1984 F1 season, and took place at the Zolder in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium, on April 29th.

Michele Alboreto won the race from the pole, followed by Derek Warwick, and René Arnoux completing the podium.

The reace did not end without incidents... 18 drivers out of the original 27 who started did not managed to cross the finish line.

These included, Keke Rosberg, who run out of fuel on lap 69, Nelson Piquet, Eddie Cheever, and Thierry Boutsen, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Mauro Baldi, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 53, Andrea de Cesaris, who had to retire due to an accident on lap 42, Teo Fabi, who lost control and spun off the track on lap 42, Manfred Winkelhock, who suffered from problems with the exhaust on lap 39, Niki Lauda, who had a water pump failure on lap 35, Jacques Laffite, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 15, François Hesnault, who had a problem with the radiator of the car on lap 15, Piercarlo Ghinzani, who had a transmission problem on lap 14, Nigel Mansell, and Johnny Cecotto, both had a problem with the clutch, Alain Prost, who had a problem with the distributor on lap 5, and Riccardo Patrese, who had issues with the ignition on lap 2.

There was also action outise of the track itself, and the stwearts decided to disqualify 2 drivers.
