These included, Niki Lauda, and Nigel Mansell, both experienced issues with the gearbox, Andrea de Cesaris, who had an problem with the injection on lap 25, Roberto Guerrero, René Arnoux, and Riccardo Patrese, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Corrado Fabi, and Manfred Winkelhock, both had a wheel problem, John Watson, and Jean-Pierre Jarier, both retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars, Thierry Boutsen, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 4, and Mauro Baldi, who had a throttle issue on lap 3.
