1980 Belgian Grand Prix

The Belgian Grand Prix 1980 was the 5th round of the 1980 F1 season, and took place at the Zolder in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium, on May 4th.

Didier Pironi won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Alan Jones, who originally had the pole position, and Carlos Reutemann completing the podium.

These included, Elio de Angelis, Riccardo Patrese, Nelson Piquet, and Jochen Mass, all of whom lost control and spun off the track, Jan Lammers, and Tiff Needell, both suffered an engine malfunction, John Watson, who did not classify on lap 61, Mario Andretti, and Ricardo Zunino, both experienced issues with the gearbox, Patrick Depailler, who suffered from problems with the exhaust on lap 38, Alain Prost, who had a transmission problem on lap 29, Emerson Fittipaldi, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 16, Bruno Giacomelli, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 11, and Jean-Pierre Jabouille, who had a problem with the clutch on lap 1.
