These included, Giancarlo Fisichella, who had a fuel system failure on lap 60, Nick Heidfeld, Fernando Alonso, and Juan Pablo Montoya, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Olivier Panis, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 6, and Jos Verstappen, and Heinz-Harald Frentzen, both had a problem with the clutch.
