The Austrian Grand Prix 1986 was the 12th round of the 1986 F1 season, and took place at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, on August 17th.

Alain Prost won the race after starting in the 5th position, followed by Michele Alboreto, and Stefan Johansson completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 14th position of the grid.

Teo Fabi started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered an engine malfunction, and had to retire on lap 17th.
