1983 Austrian Grand Prix

The Austrian Grand Prix 1983 was the 11th round of the 1983 F1 season, and took place at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, on August 14th.

Alain Prost won the race after starting in the 5th position, followed by René Arnoux, and Nelson Piquet completing the podium.

Patrick Tambay started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he had issues with the ignition, and had to retire on lap 30th.

These included, Manfred Winkelhock, who suffered a water leak on lap 33, Andrea de Cesaris, who run out of fuel on lap 31, Patrick Tambay, who had issues with the ignition on lap 30, Riccardo Patrese, who suffered an engine malfunction on lap 29, Roberto Guerrero, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 25, Jacques Laffite, who suffered from unhandable vibrations on lap 21, Mauro Baldi, who had an oil leak on lap 13, Michele Alboreto, Elio de Angelis, Marc Surer, and Danny Sullivan, all of whom retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars, Derek Warwick, who had a turbo failure on lap 2, and Bruno Giacomelli, who had a problem with the radiator of the car on lap 1.
