1982 Austrian Grand Prix

The Austrian Grand Prix 1982 was the 13th round of the 1982 F1 season, and took place at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, on August 15th.

Elio de Angelis won the race after starting in the 7th position, followed by Keke Rosberg, and Jacques Laffite completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 14th position of the grid.

Nelson Piquet started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered from electrical problems, and had to retire on lap 31st.

These included, Alain Prost, and René Arnoux, both had an problem with the injection, John Watson, Brian Henton, Marc Surer, Riccardo Patrese, Eddie Cheever, and Nigel Mansell, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Nelson Piquet, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 31, Tommy Byrne, Manfred Winkelhock, Roberto Guerrero, and Michele Alboreto, all of whom lost control and spun off the track, Derek Warwick, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 7, Teo Fabi, who had a transmission problem on lap 7, Rupert Keegan, who had issues with the steering of the car on lap 1, and Derek Daly, Andrea de Cesaris, and Bruno Giacomelli, all of whom retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars.
