1974 Austrian Grand Prix

The Austrian Grand Prix 1974 was the 12th round of the 1974 F1 season, and took place at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, on August 18th.

Carlos Reutemann won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Denny Hulme, and James Hunt completing the podium.

Niki Lauda started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered an engine malfunction, and had to retire on lap 17th.

These included, Hans-Joachim Stuck, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 48, Ian Ashley, and Jacques Laffite, both did not classify, Ronnie Peterson, who had problems with the halfshaft on lap 45, Jacky Ickx, and Patrick Depailler, both retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars, Carlos Pace, who had a fuel leak on lap 41, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jean-Pierre Beltoise, Niki Lauda, and Jody Scheckter, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Arturo Merzario, who had a fuel system failure on lap 24, Tom Pryce, who lost control and spun off the track on lap 22, and Rolf Stommelen, who had to retire due to an accident on lap 14.
