1973 Austrian Grand Prix

The Austrian Grand Prix 1973 was the 12th round of the 1973 F1 season, and took place at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, on August 19th.

Ronnie Peterson won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Jackie Stewart, and Carlos Pace completing the podium.

Emerson Fittipaldi started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he had a fuel system failure, and had to retire on lap 48th.

These included, Emerson Fittipaldi, Rikky von Opel, Wilson Fittipaldi, and Jackie Oliver, all of whom had a fuel system failure, Howden Ganley, who did not classify on lap 44, Jean-Pierre Jarier, who suffered an engine malfunction on lap 37, Graham Hill, and François Cevert, both suffered a suspension problem, George Follmer, who had a problem with the differential on lap 23, Rolf Stommelen, who had a wheel problem on lap 21, James Hunt, who had an problem with the injection on lap 3, Peter Revson, who had a problem with the clutch on lap 0, and Mike Beuttler, who retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars on lap 0.

Qualifying
