1964 Austrian Grand Prix

The Austrian Grand Prix 1964 was the 7th round of the 1964 F1 season, and took place at the Zeltweg in Styria, Austria, on August 23rd.

Lorenzo Bandini won the race after starting in the 7th position, followed by Richie Ginther, and Bob Anderson completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 14th position of the grid.

Graham Hill started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he had a problem with the distributor, and had to retire on lap 5th.

These included, Jochen Rindt, who had issues with the steering of the car on lap 58, Phil Hill, and Jo Siffert, both had to retire due to an accident, Dan Gurney, Trevor Taylor, and John Surtees, all of whom suffered a suspension problem, Bruce McLaren, and Chris Amon, both suffered an engine malfunction, Mike Spence, and Jim Clark, both had problems with the halfshaft, and Graham Hill, who had a problem with the distributor on lap 5.
