1977 Argentine Grand Prix

The Argentine Grand Prix 1977 was the 1st round of the 1977 F1 season, and took place at the Autódromo Juan y Oscar Gálvez in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on January 9th.

Jody Scheckter won the race with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 11th position of the grid, followed by Carlos Pace, and Carlos Reutemann completing the podium.

James Hunt started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered a suspension problem, and had to retire on lap 31st.

These included, Mario Andretti, who had a problem witht he wheel bearing on lap 51, Vittorio Brambilla, who run out of fuel on lap 48, Ian Scheckter, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 45, Tom Pryce, and Jacques Laffite, both did not classify, John Watson, and James Hunt, both suffered a suspension problem, Alex Ribeiro, who had a transmission problem on lap 39, Patrick Depailler, who suffered from an overall car overhating on lap 32, Jochen Mass, and Ronnie Peterson, both lost control and spun off the track, Ingo Hoffmann, who suffered an engine malfunction on lap 22, Niki Lauda, who had a fuel system failure on lap 20, Hans Binder, who had to retire due to an accident on lap 18, Renzo Zorzi, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 2, and Gunnar Nilsson, who withdrew on lap 0.
